Hello, Lebanon. It’s me, your friendly Green Patriot. I’m writing to talk about an awesome clean-up initiative that’s going to take place on September 8th, 2012. An NGO called “Greenocratic Organization” has initiated preparations for a massive clean-up day across Lebanon. In the context of  the wider campaign initiated at the international environmental “Let’s Do It World 2012” Conference in Tallinn, Estonia, this campaign aims at removing Lebanon’s garbage in a single day. It is doing so in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and other environmental NGOs. Nor is Lebanon the only country to undergo this fabulous intiative.  83 countries (all participants of the Let’s Do it World 2012 Conference) will conduct massive clean-ups in their respective nations. These clean-ups will take place between March 24th – September 25th, 2012…all over the world!

First of all, kudos to Greenocratic Organization! They are taking on this great initiative which will lead to a cleaner, healthier, and far more beautiful environment. What is even more amazing about this is that it is a citizen-based initiative, which shows that we as citizens can effect positive change. This campaign is proof that even with all of our political malaise, we are still willing to start and participate in initiatives that will change the country.  So let’s participate in “Clean-Up Day.” Let’s clean up our homeland, take care of our health, and make positive progress.
