Hello, Lebanon. It’s me, your friendly Green Patriot. I am curious as to how much everyone is enjoying this particular storm. The roads are flooded…some of them are choked. The water has flooded buildings, offices, homes, you name it. It’s more rain than we’ve had in the past five years.

Water is a precious resource in the Arab world. Indeed, we are the only Arab country that has 12 rivers running through it and enjoys regular rainfall. Yet we do not capitalize on this resource and conserve it when we are due for a drought in 2015. That’s in two years.

Tick tock. Tick tock.

We can conserve this water for our own uses (for home use) or even commercial purposes. However, we are doing NOTHING to capitalize on the sources we have in an environmentally-friendly fashion.

For those of you interested in how to create and maintain a water catchment system, I am posting this power-point presentation up here. This is not mine, but it provides appropriate information as to rainwater harvesting.
